Inlays / Onlays

Inlays and onlays are used for both cosmetic and restorative dental purposes. Both of these procedures help repair decayed or damaged teeth. When a dental filling is placed in the centre of a tooth it is called an inlay. If a filling is utilised to fully or partially cover the biting surface of the tooth, it is called an onlay. Both of these procedures are used at O'Connor Moore Dental Practice instead of regular dental fillings if the decay appears to be too extensive.

What does it involve?

This can now be completed in a single visit using our CEREC technology.

Inlays are highly effective at sealing bacteria off from your teeth. Dentists highly recommend inlays in cases of cavities, as they can be cleaned much easier than traditional fillings. Inlay and onlays are also unsusceptible to discolouring, unlike traditional fillings.

Please feel free to contact our dental practice if you require additional information on inlay and onlay treatment.
